EDUCATION CITY PUTS SONIPATKUNDLI ON TOP

Experts say that the Rajiv Gandhi Education City will change the realty skyline of the Sonipat-Kundli region, much like what the IT-MNC-BPO industries did for Gurgaon.

Sonipat-Kundli belt is emerging as a new hot spot for end users and buyers, as infrastructure and connectivity have improved tremendously here.
Also, the forthcoming 135kmlong Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway has the potential to transform the Sonipat-Kundli zone into a realty hub for investors.
Sonipat-Kundli zone, which is on a 15-minute drive from Rohini in north Delhi along the NH-1, is also shaping up as a international-level education hub with a number of universities coming forward to set up their branches on a 2,000-acre campus in the forthcoming Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Rai village in Sonipat.
The chief minister of Haryana, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, recently laid the foundation stone for 10 prestigious educational institutions on the campus of Rajiv Gandhi Education City. On the occasion, Hooda said that the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, is one of the institutions that would open an extension branch on 50 acres on the campus.
These developments would enable the Sonipat-Kundli region to compete with Gurgaon on an equal footing, Hooda said.
The chief minister also said that the Rajiv Gandhi Education City would be one of the largest higher education complexes in the world and would take in nearly 1.5 lakh students in the 10 universities, which are expected to offer courses in management, architecture, engineering, law, telecommunications, medical sciences, biotechnology, etc.

Physical infrastructure like
water supply, sewage system, and power units have been upgraded and a railway bridge has come up in the Sonipat-Kundli region.
Further, connectivity to the main junctions of Delhi has become easy. Commuters travelling from north Delhi via Mukarba Chowk can now avoid the traffic chaos and head straight through to Kundli. These developments have prompted top realty players like TDI, Ansals, Jindal Real Estate, Eldeco, Parker, Omaxe, Parsvnath, Vardhman, Apex Developers, etc, to set up base in the Sonipat-Kundli region.
The KMP Expressway (also known as the Western Peripheral Expressway), which connects four national highways like NH-1, NH-2, NH-8 and NH-10 in Haryana, is expected to become fully operational by May 2013, according to sources, while the Manesar-Palwal stretch is slated to open by September.
